Adult students are participants in a work training program, and receive 3 hours of ESL class, 1 hour of volunteer class, and 4 hours of work training per day. Adult students are recently resettled refugee students from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and elsewhere.

Teacher will be responsible to plan and prepare for lessons. Teaching materials will be available. Two full time Granite Peaks teachers also work at the site and will be available for support.

Teacher needed 7-10 a.m. Monday through Friday *OR* 12:30-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Teacher will be located at the LDS Humanitarian Center, 1665 S. Bennett Road (2000 W.), Salt Lake City.

Teacher will be hired through Granite Peaks Adult Education (Granite School District). This project is a collaboration between Granite Peaks, the Utah State Refugee Services Office, and the Latter Day Saint Humanitarian Center.

• Must have experience teaching ESL to adult immigrants and/or refugees
• Must interact positively with diverse populations.
• Experience teaching and/or working with refugees preferred
• Experience teaching adult students with limited previous education preferred
• TESOL Certification and/or Teacher Certification preferred
