The I-TESOL board of directors meets several times throughout the year to discuss the needs of the organization. The constitution is a document that guides the organization and includes general statements about how the organization should be managed. The bylaws are guidelines for how the constitution should be carried out.
The Board of Directors revises the constitution and bylaws when necessary. Proposed revisions are first reviewed by the leaders responsible for carrying out the guidelines and then by the board. Revisions then are presented to the general membership and voted on at the annual conference.
